With an extensive background that includes multiple aspects of the food and beverage industry, Charles Marvil offers a wealth of experience as well as a broad academic understanding of what it takes to build a successful hospitality operation. An initial career with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel company launched an 8.5-year path with various roles in senior food and beverage management across the country and internationally. This high-level core work experience allowed him to bring a solid foundation to ensuing opportunities in the independent food and beverage sector. Subsequently, Mr. Marvil focused on independent concepts in the Atlanta area including the high-profile Prime Steakhouse at Lenox Square, award winning Chef’s Café, Chef’s Grill, Woodfire Grill and Zagat rated Bhojanic Indian Cuisine.
In addition to operations experience, Charles has 8 years with two top tier hospitality technology companies, Aloha POS (NCR) and Micros POS (Oracle). This technology driven focus allows him to efficiently manage the data side of the food and beverage business. Additionally, time at Sysco Food Service of Atlanta, broadened his knowledge of sales and supply side logistics so that Charles could assist restauranteurs with profitability in their operations
As a lifelong member of the hospitality community, Charles values learning and teaching. Charles earned his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Georgia State University, a master’s degree in hospitality management from Auburn university, and a Ph.D. in hospitality management from Iowa State University. His combination of applied academic research and 35 years of practical industry experience provide knowledge and insight to potential clients and entrepreneurs
